URL: http://www.emu.ee/

The mission of the Estonian University of Life Sciences is to guarantee sustainable use of natural resources and enhance rural development. EULS is the only university in Estonia whose priorities in academic and research activities provide the sustainable development of natural resources necessary for the existence of Man as well as the preservation of heritage and habitat. EULS is the centre of research and development in such fields as agriculture, forestry, animal science, veterinary science, rural life and economy, food science and environmentally friendly technologies. EULS makes a sincere effort to transform itself from a traditional purely agricultural university into an open-minded European University of Life Sciences. EULS aims to guarantee its students a broad, research-based education. Since November 2005 the Estonian Agricultural University has been called The Estonian University of Life Sciences. Today teaching and research is carried out in five institutes: the Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences; the Institute of Forestry and Rural Engineering; the Institute of Technology; and the Institute of Economics and Social Sciences. In 2006 there are about 4,500 students at the EULS.

EULS will contribute to ENOAT learning repository educational content that is used to support teaching in EULS and the BOVA network; will serve as a pilot user organization in the evaluation trials; is expected to participate in the dissemination and exploitation of the project results, especially in forming liaisons with other agricultural universities (though NOVA and BOVA) and creating a European network of interested/affiliated organisations.
