The Miksike LearningFolders (LeFo) is an "open source" movement in educational publishing and online support. Miksike LearningFolders has worked for regular schools since 1994. Miksike gives away more than 30 thousand worksheets in HTML eWorksheets and offers a variety of collaborative learning services to facilitate learners in constructing their knowledge. Miksike servers get 200.000 page views and serves around 30.000 visitors per schooldays. Miksike Online Teacher Assistant system offers organized community settings where teachers/educational specialists/students act as information providers, and provides online tests and a range of contests and different online learning activities to engage the learners at every age level. Miksike development started 1994 in the non-profit organization "Miks ja Milleparast", which works successfully till today with projects with small rural schools and Russian speaking minorities in the Baltics and other projects. OU Miksike grew out from NGO "Miks ja Milleparast" in 1998. Miksike has organized over years nearly a hundred online learning collaborative events/activities in Estonia and also internationally. During 2002-2004 Miksike coordinated the Socrates/Minerva project number 100152 - LearningFolders, which created the current LeFo software platform. By January 2005 LeFo had over 35.000 registered users. Miksike is used each day by more then 25.000 learners (teachers/pupils).

Miksike will coordinate the identification of user requirements (WP2 leader), and produce the report about OA and Agroecology awareness and expectations in the project’s user groups; will also participate in the educational design activities, focusing particularly in the design of the educational scenario dealing with educational activities in the areas covered by its teachers’ network; will play an important role during the content population, contributing content to the learning repository with resources that may help school teachers with Agriculture, Food, Environment, Biology and Physics courses; will participate actively in the dissemination and exploitation of the project results through a network of user groups in the wider area of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania; and will also undertake the task of translating the interfaces of the Organic.Edunet software tools in Estonian and Russian.
